This paper looks at the double burden of violence faced by Dalit women in India. Dalit women face both caste-based and gender-based discrimination in our country. Dalit women often face violence in many forms—physical, emotional, social, and economic—which is largely ignored or overlooked due to deep-rooted caste and gender inequalities. The paper explores the history and social structures that allow this violence to continue, focusing on how these women are treated by society and the law. It also examines the efforts made by Dalit women to fight back against this violence, highlighting their strength and activism. By looking at real-life examples and legal actions, the paper shows the need for more attention to the unique struggles of Dalit women. It argues for a change in how society and the law address both caste and gender violence, calling for a fairer system that truly protects Dalit women’s rights. This paper emphasizes the importance of understanding and challenging the combined forces of caste and gender discrimination in order to create a safer, more just environment for Dalit women in India.
