Abstract:

This paper explores the plurality of laws and acts in India through the lens of legal awareness. It aims to simplify key terms such as legal pluralism, legal consciousness, and legality to enhance public understanding of the legal framework. The study highlights the objectives, methods, and agencies promoting legal awareness across India, emphasizing their role in empowering citizens. Furthermore, it discusses important national acts and the legal provisions under the Fifth and Sixth Schedules of the Indian Constitution, which safeguard the rights and autonomy of tribal and regional communities within India’s plural legal system.
